Actor Park Si-woo once again showed the strength of his global fandom when fans from China ran a major support project on August 21. A video of Park was broadcast on the LUUX LED screen mounted on the exterior of the Dong-A Media Center in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun, the massive display drawing attention in the heart of the city.
Park Si-woo gained an international following through the BL drama '검사실의 제안'. After the series premiered on domestic OTT Wave, it ranked No. 1 in real-time drama charts in Korea. On Japan’s FOD platform it reached No. 1 in both daily and weekly drama rankings and also appeared in the overall daily and weekly top 5 for all content. On iQIYI, the show hit No. 1 in the Asia drama daily and weekly charts for Europe and North America, and in Vietnam it placed No. 1 across daily, weekly, and monthly rankings.
Recently, Park and co-star Kim Yoon-sik held a fan meeting in Macau that drew about 2,500 attendees. The LUUX projection is a clear, visual example of overseas fandom translating into a high-profile presence in Seoul’s central district, underscoring Park’s rising popularity.
The LUUX billboard is the country’s largest outdoor LED screen, installed on the Dong-A Media Center’s façade and totaling 3,000㎡—roughly half the size of a soccer field. Its combined curved and flat surfaces create strong immersion, and its Gwanghwamun location maximizes exposure and media buzz. Fans’ choice of this site was therefore strategic as well as highly visible.
