Seoul Climate Companion Card Update — Short Passes Unchanged

On September 1, 2026, Seoul's integrated public transit pass system was reworked. The former 30-day prepaid card has been discontinued and replaced by a new resident-targeted Climate Companion Card Plus.

However, 1‑day, 2‑day, 3‑day, 5‑day, and 7‑day short-term passes—primarily used by foreign visitors—are unaffected by this change and will continue to be sold. The unlimited-ride access during each pass's valid period also remains the same.

Payment systems have been improved so that both the Climate Companion Card and single-ride tickets can be purchased with overseas-issued credit cards, making it easier for international travelers to buy passes.

Travelers who may be confused by the recent pass restructuring can use this notice to confirm that the short-term passes they need are still on sale and plan their trips with peace of mind.
